T3i in for Repair

Hey guys and gals, just wanted to update you on whats going on.  I have just mailed in my T3i to canon as I have discovered some vertical lines in my video.  Now once I discovered said lines I realized they had been haunting my videos ever since I had the camera I just didn't realize they were there till recently.  So hopefully I can get back to shooting stuff soon, but I do have some shots I had taken to play with and possibly create another preset from.  Here is a couple screen captures to show you guys what I found.

Now in both cases I was using Technicolor CineStyle which really shows the lines but if your using the regular canon profiles then they can be harder to notice.  Anyways, hopefully I am the only one with this issue.  If you think you have this problem, post it below.  Cheers.

  1. I've got the problem too! Just starting noticing it when I starting using Cinestyle. How was the process to send the camera back to Canon? Did you call them first? Had they heard of this issue? I'm worried I'll send in my camera and they won't be able to fix it.

  2. Sadly they didn't fix it. They just gave me some lame excuse like "cleaned image sensor." I called them and talked to a supervisor and sent him the video personally with whats going on. He told me to send my camera back in at the same time. But I did not because he never replied back after watching the video. I have a feeling ever single canon is this way and the cinestyle, while giving better detail in shadows and such, just seems to mess up the camera and makes these lines quite obvious. But please do Call, let them know at least! Good luck!

  3. I believe my camera has this issue as well. I notice it in all my videos. Did Canon ever admit that it's a defect?
